Helen Jean Boothe
Helen Jean Boothe died peacefully
at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus with her family by her side
on June 13, 2003. She was 76.
She was the beloved wife for 53 years of Dr. Edward J. Boothe.
She was the loving and devoted mother of Nancy (Douglas) Tindall
of Calgary, and Barbara (Robert) Yantha of Ottawa. She was loving
grandma of Melanie, Matthew and Melissa Tindall; and Jennifer
Yantha.
She was born in Kenmore and attended area schools. She graduated
from Ottawa Normal School in 1946. She was daughter of the late
Stanley Carkner and Isabella "Bella" (nee McVey).
She is survived by sisters Doris (late Dean) Loney of Ottawa,
Phyllis (Thomas) Curran of Williamstown, and Joyce (Donald) Fulford
of Ottawa. Also surviving is brother-in-law Walter (late Nona)
Cherry of Ottawa. She was predeceased by sister Kathleen Carkner,
Nona Cherry and brother Duncan who was killed overseas. She will
be missed by many dear cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral was held in the chapel of the Duncan Funeral Home in Metcalfe
on June 17, with Rev. Lillian Roberts of Rideau Park United Church
officiating.
Pallbearers were John Baird, Wayne Boothe, Keith Jeacle, Robert
LeBlanc, David Loney, John Van Egmond and A.J. Welsh, all nephews
of the deceased. Interment was at Capital Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Baker was born on Sept. 21, 1919 in Russell.
Friends paid their respects at the Winchester Funeral Home on
June 24 and 25. The funeral service will be held on Thurs., June
26 at 11 am in the chapel of the Winchester Funeral Home, with
Rev. Bob Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Knight's
Cemetery in Inkerman.
The pallbearers are Gerald Crowder, Dave Hutt, George Hutt, Tom
Beck, Donald Runions and Dan Kelly.
