Joe Loose
Joe Loose, of the Hartford Manor Retirement Home
in Morrisburg, passed away after a brief illness, at the Winchester
District Memorial Hospital on Aug. 13, 2005. He was 84.
He was born on March 28, 1921 in Toronto to the late Joseph Loose
and the late Agnes Nixon. Joe was predeceased by his wife Eva
Babin, whom he married in Port Carling on Nov. 4, 1958. He is
survived by his step-daughter Maureen (Neil) Williams of Mariatown,
and his brother Paul Loose of Brantford. Joe will be fondly remembered
by grandchildren Dean (Sandra) Williams of Howick, Que., Dawn
(Mike) Erickson of Winchester, Dale (Kim) Williams of RR1 Winchester,
and by great-grandchildren Kanel, Gillian, and Paul Erickson;
Ryan and Kaitlyn Williams; Logan and Tanner Williams; and by nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Marion Mailey.
Although Joe lived for the past five years at the Hartford Manor
Retirement Home in Morrisburg, he lived in several locations during
his lifetime including Toronto, Brantford, Jamaica, Antigua and
Alberta, before moving to Morrisburg in 1988. He worked for several
years on the Alberta Tar Sands before retiring in the 1980s. He
was a member of St. James Anglican Church in Morrisburg, and the
Royal Canadian Legion Branch #48 in Morrisburg. His hobbies included
golfing, curling, and collecting items such as coins, stamps,
and plates. He also loved trains and learning about history.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg
on Aug. 19. The funeral service was held in the funeral home on
Aug. 19 with Rev. Darren May officiating. Interment followed at
St. James Anglican Cemetery in Morrisburg.
The pallbearers were Dean Williams, Dale Williams, Mike Erickson,
Ryan Williams, Kane Erickson, Paul Erickson, and Logan Williams.
Donations to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital would be
appreciated by the family.
