Wilfred McIntosh
Wilfred McIntosh of Park Drive Villa in Williamsburg
passed away following an illness of almost nine years, on April
21, 2006 at Winchester District Memorial Hospital. He was 87.
He was born on Feb. 9, 1919 in Williamsburg Township to the late
Isaac McIntosh and the late Zella McIntosh (nee Merkley). He was
the husband of Pearl McIntosh (nee Robinson) whom he married in
Ottawa on Sept. 24, 1941. He was predeceased by brother Aden and
sisters Jessie Beckstead and Kathleen Garlough. He is survived
by his brother-in-law Ted Beckstead of Cardinal and will be fondly
remembered by several nieces and nephews.
A retired farmer, he was a lifetime resident of the area. He was
a member of the Williamsburg United Church. He enjoyed fishing
and spending time in the bush, whether he was working or just
taking a leisurely stroll.
Friends called at Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg
April 23 and 24. The funeral was held on April 24 at the funeral
home with Rev. Isabel Black officiating, followed by interment
at Spruce Haven Cemetery in Brinston. Pallbearers were Francis
Henderson, John Byvelds, Steven Byvelds, Alex Scott, Ed Hanson,
and Don Garlough. Honorary pallbearers were Carmen McIntosh, Ken
Beckstead, Ferneley Johnston, and Gerry McPherson.
