Neil Dennison
Neil Dennison, a lifetime resident of the area,
passed away at Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Thurs.,
Dec. 11, 2008, following a six year battle with cancer. He was
52.
He was born in Winchester on May 18, 1956 to his parents Cecil
and Joan Dennison (nee Henwell). Following his graduation from
Seaway District High School, he worked at a couple of different
jobs before getting a position at Beavers Dental in Morrisburg,
where he remained until 2002 when health problems forced him to
retire early.
In addition to working full time at Beavers, Neil operated a mixed
farm, where he raised several animals including chickens, turkeys,
beef cattle, pigs, ducks, geese, rabbits, and horses.
He will be remembered for his good sense of humour, his love of
animals, his interest in environmental issues, and the enjoyment
he got from attending and betting on horse races.
He was a past president of the Dundas Cattlemen's Association,
and he supported such organizations as the Friends of the Sanctuary
and Ducks Unlimited.
Neil is survived by his wife Barbara Dennison (nee Simzer) and
her children Shawna (Robert) Williams of Cornwall, and Martin
(Cathy) Yerxa of Ottawa. He is also survived by his mother Joan
Dennison of Morrisburg, and his siblings Cheryl (Lester) Neild
of Napanee, Linda Dennison of Hamilton, Dale of Ottawa, Lester
(Linda) Swerdfeger of Ottawa, and Lynn Dillabough (Doug Byers)
of RR#1 Iroquois. He was a dear uncle of Kevin (Terry), Laura
(Pete), Steven (Crystal), Julie, Billy (Jennifer), Karen (Dan),
and Jamie. He was predeceased by his father Cecil.
There was no visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service
will be held at Williamsburg United Church on Sat., Dec. 20 at
11 am with Rev. Elaine Beattie officiating.

of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral
Home in Williamsburg.
