Ruth Johansen

Ruth Johansen passed away peacefully at the Carefor Hospice in Cornwall on Mon., Dec. 14, 2009. She was 94.
A lifelong resident of the Winchester area, Ruth had been in the Hartford Retirement Residence in Morrisburg for the last four years. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Paul. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (John) DeGroot of Toronto, her son, David (Sandra) Johansen of Iroquois, her grandchildren Timothy, Anne Elise, Krista, Lesley, and Tyler, and by her great-grandchildren Collin, Owen, Gwyneth, Charlotte, Paul, Alexis, and Reagan. She is also survived by sisters Margaret Johansen of Winchester, Mary Green of Victoria, B.C., and Phyllis Slater of Sardis, B.C. She was predeceased by sisters Laura Hall and Lillian Wittenburg.
A memorial service will be held at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg on Sat., Jan. 9, 2010 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Carefor Hospice in Cornwall.
