W. Ritchie Allison
WWII Veteran RCAF 1941-44

William “Ritchie” Allison passed away peacefully on Sat., Feb. 9, 2013 in Mississauga.
He was born in May 1920 near Dunbar, to Fred and Mabel (nee Shaver) Allison.
On June 29, 1942, Ritchie married F. Helen Stewart. Helen is a daughter of the James Stewart family from Dalmeny Corners. Ritchie and Helen had four children who survive him: William of Toronto; Alec, and his wife, Marie-André, their five children and four grandchildren, of Victoria,B.C.; Greg, and his wife, Susan, of Ottawa; and Janet, and her two children of Mississauga. Helen continues to reside in Mississauga.

Ritchie was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Luella Smith, of Guelph, and his brother, Hartley, of Morrisburg.
After graduating high school, Ritchie joined the Royal Bank in Winchester.
He enlisted in the RCAF in 1941, serving as a pilot in Britain. He retired as a Flying Officer after four years service.
Ritchie returned to the bank and will be well remembered by those who worked alongside him in Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia. He retired in 1980 as Regional Manager in Windsor.
He was generous with his talents, serving local charitable and community organizations throughout his working life and retirement. Ritchie was a family man of great kindness, loyalty, and humour.
Family and friends will be notified when interment is determined.
