Freya Barber died tragically on Fri., June 8, 2012, at the age of 17, after a lengthy struggle with depression.
Freya was born on Sept. 23, 1994, the only daughter of Daniel and Hali (Laundry) Barber of Winchester. Freya was the great-granddaughter of Lucy Barber of St. Catharines, the granddaughter of Donald and Wendy Barber of St. Catharines, and the niece of Amanda, James, and Jesse Barber. Freya was also the granddaughter of Linda Laundry of St. Catharines, and Ralph Laundry (Sheila) of Fonthill, Ont. She was the niece of Heather, Mark, and Marsha Laundry.
Freya was a student at Canterbury High School in Ottawa where she studied visual arts. She will be remembered by many friends and relatives.
A memorial service will be held at Fonthill United Church today (Wed., June 13). A second service will be held at St Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Winchester on Sat., June 16 at 1 pm with Rev. Thurland Brown officiating, followed by a reception at the Wesleyan Church in Winchester.
