Jean Henderson Casselman of Park Drive Villa in Williamsburgpassed away on Aug. 21, 2006 at Winchester District Memorial Hospitalafter a lengthy illness. She was 89.
She was born in Chesterville on Dec. 19. 1916 to the late CarmanMcIntosh and the late Jennie McIntosh (nee Henderson). She waspredeceased by her husband Ralph Casselman whom she married onApril 14, 1938 at the Winchester Presbyterian Church Manse. Sheis survived by her brother Ron (Leona) McIntosh of Iroquois, sister-in-lawBetty McIntosh of Chesterville, and by nieces, nephews, great-nieces,and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Bert McIntosh,and sisters Olive Mallory, and Audrey Fry.
She was a lifetime resident of the area, and spent the last 10years at Park Drive Villa in Williamsburg. During her life sheworked as a secretary at Ross Beckstead’s business, as a clerkat the Williamsburg Post Office, and as a hairdresser. She wasa very active member of both her church and her community. WithinSt. Peter’s Lutheran Church she was involved in the EvangelicalLutheran Women’s group, Luther League, and she sang in the choirfor many years. Outside of church, she was involved in the WilliamsburgWomen’s Institute, Thursday crafters, and Park Drive Villa Seniorsgroup.
A private funeral service was held at the Marsden and McLaughlinFuneral Home in Williamsburg on Aug. 24 with Rev. Noreen Gullonsofficiating, followed by interment at Dundela Cemetery.
