Bessie Mae Clark passed away peacefully onSat., Oct., 27, 2007. She was 88.
She was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by her daughterJoan Ellis (Michael Sheridan). She was the beloved grandma toSteven Clark, Shawn Clark (Cathy Morrow), Matthew Clark (KileyMcLellan), Barbara (Lynden) Holmes, and Kathryn (Shawn) Borgford.She was the very special great-grandma to Autumn Holmes, MackaylaClark, Dane Borgford, and Lachlyn Holmes, and she will be missedas “Grandma Bessie” to Jaime, Dana, and Mitchell Sheridan.She was predeceased by her sons Robert (Carol), and Wesley Clark.She is survived by her sisters Dorothy Byers, and Hughetta Thoms,and her brother Hudson (Joan) Stewart, as well as many niecesand nephews. She will be greatly missed by her long time neighboursLorraine and Patricia Hitsman.
She began working at Winchester District Memorial Hospital in1948, then in 1956 she joined Bell Canada, first in Winchesterand later in Ottawa. She received numerous accolades from BellCanada for years of perfect attendance on the job. She was a dedicatedmember of the bowling group “The Keene Strikers.”
Friends called at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes onOct. 30. A memorial service will be held at Woodroffe United Churchon Oct. 31 at 1 pm. Interment at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chestervillewill be at a later date.
