Gordon Lyle Crowder
RCAF Flight Lieutenant – Retired

Gordon Lyle Crowder passed away on Tues., Sept. 2, 2006 after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 80.
A lifelong resident of Inkerman and founding member of the famed Inkerman Rockets, Gordon also travelled the world as a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces.
He spent a wonderful 20 years of retirement with loving wife Florence Helmer. He leaves behind his older sister Ada (late Howard Baldwin), younger brother Denzil (Connie), and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his son Charles, daughter Nancy (Steen Woeldike), and daughter through marriage Susan (John Sloane). He is fondly remembered by grandchildren Adrian, Andrew (Kimberley), Amanda, Kimberly, Derrick, and Kristi. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Brandon Lyle and Hannah Ashley.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Veryl Irene (nee Gough) of Kemptville.
Friends paid their respects at the Winchester Funeral Home. The funeral service was held at Inkerman United Church on Thurs., Sept. 7. Rev. Blair Paterson officiated. The pallbearers were his six grandchildren. Interment took place at Knights Cemetery on Sept. 16.
