Gordon Lyle Crowder passed away on Tues., Sept. 2, 2006 aftera battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 80.
A lifelong resident of Inkerman and founding member of the famedInkerman Rockets, Gordon also travelled the world as a proud memberof the Canadian Armed Forces.
He spent a wonderful 20 years of retirement with loving wife FlorenceHelmer. He leaves behind his older sister Ada (late Howard Baldwin),younger brother Denzil (Connie), and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his son Charles, daughter Nancy (SteenWoeldike), and daughter through marriage Susan (John Sloane).He is fondly remembered by grandchildren Adrian, Andrew (Kimberley),Amanda, Kimberly, Derrick, and Kristi. He is also survived bytwo great-grandchildren, Brandon Lyle and Hannah Ashley.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Veryl Irene (nee Gough)of Kemptville.
Friends paid their respects at the Winchester Funeral Home. Thefuneral service was held at Inkerman United Church on Thurs.,Sept. 7. Rev. Blair Paterson officiated. The pallbearers werehis six grandchildren. Interment took place at Knights Cemeteryon Sept. 16.
