John Doesburg Jr.
John “Louie” Daniel Doesburg of Ottawa passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Montfort Hospital on Sat., March 28, 2015. He was 42.
John was born in Winchester on Sept. 17, 1972 to his parents, John and Ruth Doesburg (nee Holliday). He was a graduate of Timothy Christian School in Boucks Hill and Seaway District High School in Iroquois. He loved the outdoors, sports, animals, and he was a friend to all he met.
John is survived by his parents, his brother, Steven of Mariatown, and his sister, Melanie McCourt (Andrew) of Morrisburg. He was uncle John (Unka Don) to Logan, Gabe, Micah, Lily-Anna, and Gracelyn. John is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Cecil and Hilda Holliday of the Dundas Manor in Winchester; his aunts, Tina Doesburg of Iroquois, Joyce Byford of Winchester, Bonnie Holliday (Ron Blanchard) of Winchester, and Phyllis Holliday of Winchester; and his honourary uncle, Leland Dawson of Iroquois. He was predeceased by his paternal Opa and Oma, Simon and Clasina Doesburg; his long-time companion, Taina Ipeelie; his aunt, Jenny Doesburg; and his uncles, Raymond Holliday and Joe Byford.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg on Wed., April 1 from 6 to 9 pm. The funeral service was held at Williamsburg Christian Reformed Church on Thurs., April 2 at 11am with Rev. John Noordhof officiating, followed by interment at New Union Cemetery in Williamsburg, where he is resting beside his Aunt Jenny. The pallbearers were his sister, Melanie McCourt, cousins Craig LeClare and Alain Proulx, and longtime friends Robert Tibben, Eric Tibben, and Johan Tangelder.
