SOUTH MOUNTAIN – The South Mountain Fair is coming up quick this August and there’s still a lot of planning to be done in matters of children’s entertainment.

Anna Smail and Rhonda Holmes hosted Mountain Township Agricultural Society’s third annual bingo Sat., May 12 at the village’s agricultural hall to raise money for such a cause.

Smail said she would like to bring a large variety of entertainment options for the kids, including face painting, fake tattoos, a magic show and even the TV duo, the Buckaroos.

“We want there to be enough to keep the kids entertained, as well as the parents bringing them,” she said.

The event had 23 rounds that offered winners cash prizes of $20 to $50 all the way to the jackpot of $1,000.

Smail said that this was their largest turnout yet for the event, with more than 150 in attendance.

“This is a great way to get the community together for a great cause for a little friendly competition,” said Smail.

The event raised more than $2,000 for the agricultural society. The locals enjoyed the event so much, another one will be held Sat., Sept. 29.
