Dorothy Edith Hatcher passed away peacefully with her familyby her side at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Aug.21, 2006. She was 97. She was the daughter of the late Elsieand Maurice Spidell of Halifax, N.S. She was adored by her latehusband of 53 years, John Hatcher. She was the cherished motherof Carol Bell and Sandra Smith (Lyle). She was the special Nannyof Lisa Bell, Sonya Smith (Todd), and Shane Bell, and Great-Nannyof Tyla, Jumal, Stephanie, Alexandra, Austin, Alayah, and Olivia.Her sisters Margaret Nash, Ellen Smith, Marion Tizard, ShirleyBouchard and brothers Jack, Bob, and Doug, all of Nova Scotia,and Maurice of California will all feel her loss. She was predeceasedby her sister Winnie Hogan and brother Wilbert Spidell.
She was a delightful person. She had a deep passion for life andhumanity and her positive outlook was admired by all who knewher.
Friends paid their respects at the Winchester Funeral Home onAug. 24 until the time of the funeral service at Winchester UnitedChurch, followed by interment at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville.
