Don Henderson, a lifetime resident of the Chesterville area, passed away at the Ottawa General Hospital on Tues., March 29, 2016, following a brief illness. He was 73.
Don was born in Victoria, B.C., on Dec. 28, 1942 to his parents, Hulbert and Nancy Henderson (nee Sparling).
Don is survived by his wife, Marian; his children, Lianne Henderson of Ingleside, Janet Adams (Fabian) of Blackstock, and Bill (Amy) of Williamsburg; his siblings, Bob (Lucy) of Dundas, Patricia Henderson (Paul McClimont) of Orleans, and Peggy Maxwell (John) of Lower Beverley Lake; and his sister-in-law, Patricia Henderson of Chesterville. Don will be sadly missed by grandchildren Luke and Mia. He was predeceased by his parents, and his brother, Dick. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home inWilliamsburg on Fri., April 1 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service was held at Christ Church United in Chesterville on Sat., April 2 at 1 pm with Rev. Debbie Poirier officiating. Interment of cremated remains will be at Grantley Cemetery in Chesterville. The honorary pallbearers were Glenn Pemberton, Ron McMillan, Steve Simpson, Jack Lannin, Ken Edgerton, and Tim McCadden.
Donations to Winchester District Memorial Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
