Elaine Henderson, a resident of Woodland Villa Nursing Home in Long Sault since July 2013, passed away peacefully there on Sun., Dec. 25, 2016. She was 84.
Elaine was born in Montreal on March 31, 1932, to the late William and Margaret Cully (nee St. Louis). She is survived by her daughter, Cathy and Tom Hummel of Napanee; her son, Kevin and Susan Mellon of South Mountain; and her son, David Mellon of South Mountain. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Melissa Hummel; Katelin Mohan; Darien, Sabrina, and Brianna Mellon; and, Keshia and Luke Mellon.Elaine was predeceased by her husbands, Lyle Mellon who she married in 1959, and Lorne Henderson who she married in 1997; her parents Bill and Margaret Cully (nee St. Louis); and her brother Bill and Jean Cully. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Elaine belonged to the Hulbert-Valley United Church.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg on Thurs., Dec. 29 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service was held at Hulbert-Valley United Church on Fri., Dec. 30 at 11 am with Rev. Valerie Vander Wiele officiating, followed by interment at Spruce Haven Cemetery in Brinston. The pallbearers were John Mellan, Reg Larocque, Dale Keyes, Terry Henderson, Brent Fawcett, and Lyndon Stewart.
