Elsie Hogaboam Elsie Hogaboam (nee Coons) of Winchester passed
away at Hillcrest Haven on Dec. 24, 2007. She was
86.
She was the wife of the late Arnold Hogaboam
whom she married in Winchester on Sept. 18, 1946.
She was born on May 15, 1921 to the late George
Coons and the late Ida (nee Scott). She was the mother
of Bill (Brenda), and Danny (Doris). She was the
grandmother to Rachel (Richard), and Amber, and
great-grandmother to Ashton. She was the sister of
Edna (Don) Snider.
She previously worked as a cook at North Dundas
District High School and at Dundas Manor. She was a
member of the Winchester Wesleyan Church.
The funeral was held at the Winchester Wesleyan
Church on Dec. 28 with Rev. Thurland Brown officiating.
Interment was at Maple Ridge Cemetery in
Chesterville. The pallbearers were Ray Barkley, John
Rowe, Steve Smirle, Vince Zandbelt, Tom Clapp, and
Chad Benoit. The honourary pallbearers were Elwood
Coons, Lyall Holmes, Ralph Poole, and Revel Robinson.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Byers
Funeral Home in South Mountain.
