Wm. J. Francis Hutt passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Sat., June 14, 2014. He was 93.
He was the beloved husband of 64 years to his adoring wife, Elaine L. (nee Clark) of Kingston. He was the dear father of Donna (Dave) of Buck Lake, and Brenda of Ottawa. He was affectionately known as “Grandpa” to his grandchildren, Jason (Nicole), Dana (Angie), Lindsay (Thaida), Darren (Yolanda), and Donna (Pat), and “Papa” to his 13 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Doreen Taylor-Alexander (her late husbands, Ray and Gay), his brother, Donald (the late Nettie), and sisters-in-law Shirley Page (the late Ralph) and Norma Hutt. He was predeceased by his brother, Norbert Hutt. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd. in Kingston, on Fri., June 20 at 2 pm with Rev. Judy MacGillivray officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 pm until 1:50 pm, and during a reception in the Reception Centre following the service. The family will gather privately for a graveside service at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Hutt’s memory may be made to the Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
