A resident of the Brinston area for the past 40 years, Beverley Kearns passed away peacefully at home on Mon., July 11, 2016. She was 75.
Bev was born in Montreal on Sept., 28, 1940 to her parents Edward and Annette Kent (nee Lapierre).
Bev worked at Bell for many years. She moved to Brinston and worked at Modern Mechanical in Ottawa until retirement. During her retirement, she drove cancer patients to their appointments. She enjoyed driving so much that she went on to drive a school bus. In the last five years, she loved being a member of the Helping Hands at St. Mary of the Presentation Catholic Church in Chesterville.
Bev is survived by her husband Edward Kearns, her children John Dickson (Renee) of Nuns Island, Allen Dickson (Wendy Delorey) of Kemptville, and Pamela DeVries (Dan) of Chesterville; her step-children Edward “Dusty” Kearns (Cathy) of Niagara Falls, Ann Gilchrist of Newfoundland, Danny Kearns of Welland and Kate Kearns of Niagara Falls; and her brothers David Kent (Barbara) of New Hampshire and Mike Kent (Joanne) of Montreal. Bev will be fondly remembered by grandchildren Hope, Eric, Callie, Tara; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Edward Kent. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg on Thurs., July 14, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Chesterville, on Fri., July 15 at 11 am, with Father Cosmas Ajawara officiating.
Inurnment followed at Iroquois Point Cemetery. Pallbearers were Hope and Eric DeVries.
