Joan Mary Margaret Kelly-Wheeler
Dec. 7, 1956 – May 19, 2012
“Cherished wife, loving mother, caring sister, giving friend”
With great sadness, her family announces Joan’s passing on Sat., May 19, 2012 at Winchester District Memorial Hospital.
Joan leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 33 years, Daniel Wheeler, and her much loved sons, Tyler (Carly Bulger) and Kyle, of whom she was very proud. She was the beloved daughter of Barbara and the late Edmund Kelly. She will be sadly missed by her sisters and brothers: Christine Cormier (Richard), Judy Hatt (late Cecil), Debra (Dwaine Irven), Grant (Catherine), Mark (Jerome Dominic), Steven (Peggy), Dwaine, and Leonard. She was predeceased by brothers Kevin (Laura) and baby John. She will be missed by brothers-in-law Ed (Carolyn), Steve, Gerry (Nancy), and the late Jeffery (Shoon). Aunt Joan will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews for her great sense of fun and adventure.
She was never one to turn down a dare, or bet you a million dollars. She will forever be missed by her dear friends, hospital co-workers, and Thursday night ball players, with whom she shared many good times through the years. Joan taught everyone she knew about love, strength, and courage with a healthy dose of good humour thrown in. She has left us with many beautiful memories and she will always be in our thoughts as we face each new day.
Family and friends visited the Daniels Visitation Centre in Chesterville on Tues., May 22. The funeral service will take place at St. Mary of the Presentation Catholic Church in Chesterville today (Wed., May 23) at 11 am, followed by interment at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.
Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
