Arthur “Art” H. Knapp

Arthur Knapp passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tues., Aug. 30, 2011 at the age of 91.

Arthur or better known as “Art” was the son of the late Milton and Minnie Knapp. He was predeceased by his brother Keith.

Born in the Perth area, he came to Winchester in 1949 and opened the first and only projectionist theater in Winchester known as the Winchester Theatre which he operated as a family business for many years. He also drove a school bus.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Geraldine (nee Thomas) to whom he was married for 60 years working together always.

He was the loving father of Steven (Barbara), Allen (Lise), Crystal Roy, (Marcel), and Nelson (Susan). He was the proud grandfather of Shawna, Amanda, Jason, Mitchell, Bobby, Josse, Vanessa, Steven, Ryan, Kirk, and Tyler. He was also a great grandfather of 11 great grandchildren.

A private family service was held as per his wishes on Fri., Sept. 2, 2011 at Daniels Funeral Chapel Inc. in Winchester. The funeral service was performed by Rev. Angus McDonald and internment took place at Maple Ridge Cemetery.
