WINCHESTER – Two area men have been apprehended following a pair of break-ins at the Township of North Dundas’ Boyne Road landfill.

Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry OPP were called to the location on back-to-back days Mon., June 4 and Tues., June 5.

The subsequent investigation revealed that on Sat., May 26 and the second day police arrived, the site was entered, a number of items were removed, and damaged was caused to the landfill’s buildings.

Randy Froats, 23, and Christopher McRoberts, 40, have been arrested following a pair of recent break-ins at the Township of North Dundas’ Boyne Road landfill.

Two men believed to be at the centre of the crime spree were arrested Tues., June 12. During the arrest, officers also discovered marijuana.

Randy Froats, 23, faces charges of break and enter (two counts), and two counts of mischief (less than $5,000).

Also arrested and charged was Christopher McRoberts, 40, of North Dundas. He faces two counts of break and enter, mischief (less than $5,000), and because it was his home where marijuana was discovered, charges of producing a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

Both men are to appear in Morrisburg court Tues., Aug. 7.
