Laura May (Stewart) MacDonald passed away peacefullyat the Dundas Manor in Winchester on Thurs., June 7, 2007. Shewas 101.
She was the beloved wife of the late Walter MacDonald. Motherof Eileen Cunningham (Lorne), Phyllis Workman (late Ron), andLeslie MacDonald (Glenyce). She was the loving grandmother ofseven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was the sisterof Helen Allison (Ritchie). She was an aunt to many nieces andnephews. She was a daughter of the late James and Helen Stewart.Laura was predeceased by her sister, Isabel Reynolds, and brothersHerb, Alec, Stanley, Lloyd, and Archie.
Laura was a graduate of the high school in Kars, after which shegraduated from Ottawa Normal School. She was a schoolteacher atOrmond Public School, where she met her husband, Walter. As wellas being a homemaker and wife, she was a bookkeeper for the variousfamily businesses. She was ever a steadying influence for herhusband and family. Friends paid their respects at the WinchesterFuneral Home on Fri., June 8 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeralservice was held Saturday in the chapel at 1 pm. Interment occurredat Ormond Cemetery.
