Mary Elizabeth Madden

Mary Elizabeth Madden passed away at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Fri., March 13, 2009 after a brief battle with cancer.
She was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Verna (Strader) Durant of Winchester. She was the cherished wife of Howard Madden who she married in September of 1956. They made their home in Mountain for 51 years until they moved to Kemptville. She was the loving mother of Brian (Margaret) and the adoring grandmother of Grace Madden of Kemptville. She is also survived by brothers Richard Durant and Ronald (Erva) Durant, all of Winchester; sister-in-law Muriel (Preston) Gilmer, seven nephews, four nieces, three great-nephews, and eight great-nieces.
Before becoming a full-time wife and mother, Mary worked for the Federal Department of Agriculture, Animal Records Office in Ottawa.
Visitation was held at the Grant Brown Funeral Home Rolston Chapel in Kemptville on Sun., March 15. The funeral was held in the chapel of the funeral home on Mon., March 16. Interment will be held at South Gower Cemetery in the spring.
