Russell Marcellus passed away on Oct. 18, 2008at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital. He was 86.
He was born on Jan. 23, 1922 to the late William and Ida (neeOuderkirk) Marcellus. He is survived by his dear wife of 61 years,Doreen (nee Faulkner). He was the beloved father of Gail (John)Bell, Don (Nada), and Lorna (David) Van Bridger. He was the lovingPoppy to Robyn (Michael) Nolan, LeeAnne (Jason) Kee, Will andEmily Van Bridger, and Jessica and Jennifer Marcellus. He wasthe great-grandfather of Andrew and Abbey Nolan. He is survivedby many nieces and nephews, including Doug Ouderkirk and CateHarmidy. He was predeceased by his brothers Francis and Douglas;RCAF, Second World War, and his sister Gladys (the late Ralph)Ouderkirk. He was the brother-in-law of Ruby Faulkner, Reta (thelate Glenn) Raymond, Marlene Faulkner, Malcolm MacGregor, Shirley(the late Hector) Carruthers, and Faye (Elwood) Coons. He waspredeceased by brothers-in-law Donald and Jack Faulkner, and sisters-in-lawHelene Crump and Estella MacGregor.
Russell was a 60-year life member and Past Master of ChestervilleMasonic Lodge #320.
The funeral service was held at the Chesterville Funeral Homeon Wed., Oct. 22 with Rev. Wendy Wright-MacKenzie officiating,followed by interment at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville.
