WINCHESTER – A 17-year member of the provincial police force was in a courtroom yesterday (Tues., Jan. 9) to answer to an assault charge.

This comes after Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry OPP members arrested the off-duty officer in late December.

The arrested, who is a constable with the force, was booked for one count of domestic assault.

The officer was immediately put on administrative duties.

The township where the arrest was made is not known at this time, nor is the location of the courtroom the accused officer will attend.

Requests by the Winchester Press for more information related to the case were not answered by press time.
