Meet Me On Main Street series to return next year

WINCHESTER – The finale of the Meet Me On Main Street series took place Wed., Aug. 2 in Winchester, where it was revealed that the crowd-pleasing street parties were far from over.

Township of North Dundas Mayor Eric Duncan announced that the series – originally launched this year to celebrate Canada’s 150th – would make a comeback next year due to popular demand.

Winchester’s fifth event took place after main streets in Morewood, South Mountain, Hallville, and Chesterville were closed down to traffic, opening them up for music, dinner, and entertainment for the whole community.

The village event also took the top spot for record turnout among the series, with an estimated 600 people showing up for the last time to meet on Main Street this summer.
