George Perry, a resident of RR2 Chestervillefor the past 17 years, passed away suddenly at the Ottawa HeartInstitute on Mon., June 23, 2008. He was 73.
He was born in Toronto on May 27, 1935 to his parents Eldon andAlice Perry (nee Lepine).
He married Jeanne Bent on Sept. 7, 1957 and together they hadthree children: Sheila, John, and Neil. He lived in the Torontoand the Uxbridge areas until 1991 when he and Jeanne moved toRR2 Chesterville.
George will be fondly remembered by his family and friends forhis dry sense of humour and his interest in hunting and golfing.He enjoyed reading National Geographic magazine and then quizzinghis grandchildren on various topics, watching “The Duke”on the old movies, and drinking his CC and water, which he haddrank in every state except Alaska. He was well respected in thebusiness field.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne, his children Sheila Appletonof Brockville, John (Wanda) of RR1 Chesterville, Neil (Colleen)of Sunderland, and by his siblings Robert (Leslie) of Guelph,Shirley Dynes-Hutchinson (George) of Pickering, as well as Barbara(John) Kaszuba of Thunder Bay. He was a loving Poppa to Maegan,Rebecca, Savannah, Joshua, Nathan, Jesse, and Carly. He was predeceasedby his parents. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburgon Fri., June 27. The funeral service was held at the funeralhome on Sat., June 28 with Rev. Elaine Beattie officiating, followedby cremation. The pallbearers were John Perry, Neil Perry, JoshuaPerry, Rob Perry, George Perry, and Maegan Appleton.
