Denzil Robinson passed away at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Fri., Dec. 3, 2010. He was 87.
Denzil was born on June 2, 1923 to Clifford and Florence Robinson. He attended high school in Winchester until 1940, when he began working on his father’s dairy farm in Winchester Springs. He continued to farm until his retirement in the early 1990s. In December of 1955, he married Eleanor Casselman of Finch.
Denzil enjoyed curling at the Winchester Curling Club for several years following his retirement. He was a former member of the Williamsburg branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and a devout member of the congregation at Winchester Springs United Church.
In October 2007, Denzil moved to the Hartford Retirement Centre in Morrisburg, with his wife, Eleanor. In Morrisburg, he attended Lakeshore United Church, and enjoyed daily walks along the St. Lawrence River.
Denzil will be missed by his wife Eleanor, his daughter Louise, and son-in-law Bruce Moroz of Cleveland, and his granddaughters Jackie and Robyn. He was predeceased by his brother Dalton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg, on Sun., Dec. 12. The funeral service was held at the funeral home on Mon., Dec. 13 at 11 am, with Rev. Arlyce Schiebout officiating. Interment followed at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville. The pallbearers were Bruce Moroz, Carl Robinson, Clair Robinson, Craig Robinson, Brad Robinson, and Darryl Robinson.
