WINCHESTER – Kemptville’s Highway 43 Car Club and Winchester BMR are teaming up once again for a fourth time to give back to the community with their annual Winchester BMR Show and Shine car show.

“This will be our fourth annual event at the BMR,” said Highway 43 Car Club vice-president Mike Lecuyer. “This is an opportunity to give back to the community through local charities including the Community Food Share and the House of Lazarus.”

The event will have plenty to offer visitors including a 50/50 draw, door prizes and a barbeque.

“All proceeds made by the barbeque will go back into the community through the local charities,” said Lecuyer. “Ken Boje, who runs Winchester BMR and has been a terrific host for the event, has collected items for both men and women to give out as door prizes.

Lecuyer has also said that the winner of the 50/50 draw will win half of the prize while the other half will go to the Highway 43 Car Club.

“We have expenses to make and is expensive to keep events like this going,” he said. “A lot of the time, you have to make money to give back money.”

The fourth annual Winchester BMR Show or Shine car show will take place on Sun., Aug. 12 from 10 am to 3 pm, rain or shine. Admission is free for all ages but donations of canned goods and non-perishable items are greatly appreciated.

“It’s fantastic to see car people and the car show stand behind charities like the Community Food Share and the House of Lazarus,” said Lecuyer. “The people get to show off their beautiful cars and everyone gets to come out and socialize. Without people like the charities and the people who come out to the event, we wouldn’t be able to do this. Our hats off to people like them and this community.”
