Russel Darwin Sirvage
The family of Russel Darwin Sirvage is saddened to inform his many friends of his death on Jan. 27, 2003 at the age of 79.
He was the eldest son of E. Grant Sirvage and Laurie Underwood of Connaught. He was loved by his sisters, Dorothy Burnett (Ken) of Ottawa, Katherine Parks (Armand) of North Bay, Barbara Kelly (Edmund) of Chesterville and brother Donald (Lena) of Chesterville.
During the Second World War, he was a member of the RCAF #424 (Tiger) Squadron.
He was uncle and great-uncle to 51 nieces and nephews. He wasone of the founding members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch434, Chesterville, and a member for 57 years. He was past president of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 434 and past master of Masonic Lodge 320, Chesterville. Upon discharge from the RCAF, he returned home and established himself as a farmer in Finch Township, where he operated a successful farm.
Family and friends visited the Chesterville Funeral Home on Jan. 31. A Legion service followed in the evening. The funeral took place on Feb. 1 at the Chesterville Funeral Home. Burial followed at Maple Ridge Cemetery.
Donations made to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
