Frances Enid Stuart
Frances Enid Stuart died peacefully on Oct.12, 2002 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, New York. She was 84.
She was the beloved wife for nearly 60 years of the late Rev. James C. Stuart.
Mrs. Stuart was born at Russell on April 9, 1919, the elder daughter of Morgan Warner and his wife Pearl (nee Wyatt). She was a 1941 graduate of Toronto University in occupational therapy.
She will be greatly missed by her six devoted children: Judson Morgan Stuart (Andrea) of Webster, New York; James Trevor Stuart (Elizabeth) of Auburn, New York; John Cameron Stuart (Sally) of Auburn, New York; Ellen Elizabeth (Drew) Merigold of Hamilton; Karen Frances (Tom) Merino of Skaneateles, New York; and Kate (Dean) Lee of Burke, Virginia.
She will also be missed by 21 dearly loved grandchildren.
Mrs. Stuart leaves to mourn her loss her loving sister Thyra, wife of Dr. Graham Hudson of Vanier and their three children. Three sisters-in-law survive her passing: Elizabeth Stuart of Osgoode; Rita (John) of Valencia, Venezuela; and Phurn (Stevens) Stuart of Ottawa.
Sister-in-law Estella (Don) McLean of Ormond predeceased her, as well as brothers-in-law John Stuart, Stevens Stuart and Don McLean.
For over 50 years, she was a helpful and devoted partner in her husband’s work in Baptist churches in Osnabruck; West Harwich, Maine; Concord, New Hampshire; Alta Vista in Ottawa, Webster, New York; and Browncroft Community Church in Rochester, New York.
She and her sister Thyra were known for their great contribution in the Russell Musical Festivals. For Mrs. Stuart’s rendering of Danny Boy, the adjudicator remarked that the locality was honored to have such a remarkable voice in its midst.
There was a memorial service in the Rochester North Baptist Church. On Oct. 19 there was a private burial service in the family plot in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Osgoode Township. Following burial, family and friends gathered at the Duncan Funeral Parlor for a memorial service.
Pallbearers were Rhett Stuart, Sarah Stuart, Luke Stuart, Holley Dayman, Barton Gates and Tyler Gates.
