Muriel Symonds

Muriel Symonds (nee MacDonald) of Chesterville passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Fri., March 16, 2012, in her 85th year.
She was the beloved wife of the late Cecil Symonds. She was the loving mother of Brenda (Claude) Seguin of Russell, Irus (Donald) Ford of Ottawa, Ronda (Michael) Seguin of Ottawa, Brent (Gladys) of Colborne, Celine (Lester) Carkner of Kanata, Blaine (Fredda) of Woodbridge, Fay (Garry) Gallinger of Chesterville, Verdon (Betty) of Brampton, Tekla (Peter) Goodman of Carlsbad Springs, Dwight (Cindy) of Ottawa, and Deatra (Gilles) Laberge of Repentigny, Que. She will be always loved, but never forgotten by 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Muriel was born in Cornwall on August 8, 1927, to her parents, Oliver and Thelma Mae MacDonald (nee Robinson). She was the fifth child born of seven children. She was the dear sister of Clint (Peggy) MacDonald of Renfrew, Iva (Ken) Mortson of Cornwall, and Darwin (Sheila) MacDonald of Cornwall. She was predeceased by her sisters, Helen and Betty, and her brother, Ken. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Chesterville on Thur., March 22. The funeral service was held at Trinity United Church in Chesterville on Fri., March 23 at 11 am, with Rev. John Martin of the Anglican Parish of North Dundas officiating. Spring interment will be at St. Lawrence Valley Union Cemetery in Long Sault. The pallbearers were grandsons, Christopher Carkner, Colin Symonds, Paul Symonds, Gavin Ford, Trevor Gallinger, and Jason Symonds.
