Lois Casselman, a lifetime resident of the Elma area, passed away at Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Tues., Aug. 30, 2016. She was 93.
Lois was born in Elma on July 10, 1923 to her parents, Edgar and Bessie Robinson, and was raised on the family farm. On April 22, 1942, she married Bert Casselman, and together they had four children.
After Bert died, Lois babysat for 12 different families, and those children provided much joy and happiness for Lois.
She enjoyed many things in life such as working with her flowers, crocheting, playing the organ, reading, dancing, playing cards, and doing crossword puzzles. She was a member of the United Church Women for many years, and she enjoyed spending holidays with her family, especially Christmas.
She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Servage of Elma; her brother, Doug Robinson (Evelyn) of Elma; her granddaughter, Donna Lewis (Duane Gore); her great-grandchildren, Marc (Sunny), Ryan, and Jessica (John);and her great-great-grandchildren, Dion and Taylin. She was predeceased by her husband, Bert; her daughter, Betty Casselman; her sons, Raymond and Ronald Casselman; and her sisters, Hazel Robinson and Pearl McIntosh. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg on Sat., Sept. 3 from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am, followed by interment at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville. The pallbearers were Duane Gore, Marc Pharand, Ryan Pharand, Jack Casselman, Gary Pemberton, and Charles Alexander.
