CHESTERVILLE – Area police raided a Kittle Road property late last month, cracking down on a suspected vehicle theft ring in the process.

Four different OPP units were part of the search.

In all, six stolen vehicles, including two 2019 Toyota Tacoma’s, a 2017 Lexus RX3, a 2017 Lexus RX35, a 2018 Honda Civic, and a 2019 Lexus NX30, were recovered.

Officers also recovered stolen licence plates, and seized a quantity of heroin.

A large number of stolen vehicles, each connected to the Kittle Road investigation, have been discovered in sea containers in Vancouver and Lachine, Que.

Three men were apprehended in the local raid:
• Yves Bokuma Etike, 39, of Montreal faces charges of trafficking in stolen goods (more than $5,000), and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime (more than $5,000).

• Guylan Boluka, 48, of Brossard, Que. faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime (more than $5,000), and trafficking in stolen goods (more than $5,000).

• Asif Mohamed, 46, of Montreal faces charges of trafficking in stolen goods (more than $5,000), and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime (more than $5,000).

All three are to appear in Cornwall court Tues., Nov. 5.

“The OPP is committed to find those responsible for ongoing vehicle thefts across Eastern Ontario,” Det. Staff Sgt. Chad Culbert said, while noting that the investigation continues and additional charges are expected.
