Orval Rolland Delage

Orval Rolland Delage, a 60 year resident of Morrisburg, passed away Thurs., Dec. 18, 2014, at the Ottawa Hospital – General Campus. He was 80.
Orval was born on Nov. 29, 1934 to his parents, the late Marius and Philamen Delage.
In 1954, he married Claire (nee Smith) at the Morrisburg United Church Parsonage.
A Grade 12 graduate of Lisgar Collegiate in Ottawa, Orval held many occupations, including a meat cutter at Hess Groceteria, co-owner of Jack & Jill Children’s Shop, worker at Black’s Lumber, manager at Allison Import Shoppe, worker at Rohm & Hass Seaway Chemicals, and then was co-owner, for more than 30 years, of Delages House of Gifts. He was also a member of Lakeshore Drive United Church in Morrisburg.
Beloved husband of Claire, he will be sadly missed by his daughters, Debra (John) Toonders, and Heather Delage, both of Morrisburg. He wil lbe fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Daniel Toonders of Calgary, Stephanie Toonders of Toronto, David Toonders of Vancouver, and Brody Smail of Morrisburg. He was the dear brother of Adrian Delage, Theresa Ranger, and Maurice (Odette) Delage, all of Cornwall. He was predeceased by a sister, Yvonne, and brothers, Arthur, Rene, Rudy, and Herbie.
Friends were received at Parker Funeral Home in Morrisburg on Sat., Dec. 20 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, and on Sun., Dec. 21 from 1 pm until the time of the service, which was held at the funeral home, with Rev. Janet Evans officiating. Inurnment at Fairview Cemetery in Mariatown will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations made to cancer research at the Ottawa Hospital or Winchester District Memorial Hospital would be gratefully acknowledged.
