Rita Droppo (nee Brazeau), surrounded by family, passed away in hospital on Fri., March 7, 2014. She was 79.
She was the loving wife of the late Glen Droppo for 43 years, the proud mother of Kim (Crystal) and Vickie (Craig), and the doting grandmother of Jacob and Jason. She was an amazing woman who was very devoted to her family and friends, and spent her life caring for others.
She was a dedicated stay-at-home Mom with amazing baking and culinary skills. One of her greatest pleasures in life was cooking fabulous meals and then watching everyone enjoy her delicious creations. Ever the ultimate hostess, she made sure everyone else’s needs were taken care of before her own, always seated closest to the kitchen to hop up at any moment and tend to the needs of her guests.
She was an active community volunteer, lending her time and talents to her daughter’s various extracurricular and school fundraisers, the Lions Thrift Shop, and Meals on Wheels. She delighted in playing any games that allowed her to enjoy the company of others with euchre and Scrabble being her two favourite.
Rita has forever enriched the lives of her family and friends through her kindness, generosity, and love, and she will be deeply missed.
Sincere thanks to Dr. Abbud and Dr. Rivard for their care and kindness, and heartfelt appreciation to all the staff at Winchester District Memorial Hospital who treated Rita with respect and tenderness during her final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson Society of Canada in Rita’s memory would be appreciated.
The arrangements are entrusted to the Daniels Funeral Chapels Inc. in Winchester (613-774-1117).
