Irene Gibeault (nee Faubert), a lifetime resident of Chesterville, passed away suddenly at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Sun., Aug. 5,2012. She was 82.
Irene was born in Chesterville on Oct. 3, 1929, to her parents, William and Ida Faubert (nee Lagois). On April 25, 1953, she married Rolland Gibeault in Chesterville.
Irene worked as a waitress all her life. She started her career at Kilby’s in Chesterville, worked at Fulton Brothers, and then she worked at Upper Canada Village until she retired in 1962.
Irene loved to travel. She also enjoyed spending lots of time with her husband and children. This beautiful lady adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well.
Irene is survived by her husband, Rolland, her children, Suzanne Stewart of Morewood, Roger (Judy) of RR# 2 Chesterville, and Joanne (Mike) Laurin of Morrisburg, her siblings Don (Edna) Faubert of Ottawa, Pauline (Ron) Beehler of Crysler, Gerald (Louise) Faubert of Chesterville, and Theresa Faubert of Ottawa. Irene will be fondly remembered by grandchildren Terri (Kevin) O’Neil, Tasha Gibeault, Matthew (Pamela) Gibeault, Amanda (Andrew) McGinnis, Christopher (Melannie) Stewart, and great-grandsons Devin and Harrison. She was predeceased by her parents, and brothers Ernest, Leonard, and Albert. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Chesterville on Thurs., Aug. 9 from 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary of the Presentation Catholic Church in Chesterville on Fri., Aug. 10 at 11 am, followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Chesterville. The pallbearers were Roger Gibeault, Mike Laurin, Raymond Gibeault, Christopher Stewart, Bill Faubert, and Bob Beehler.
