Beatrice J. Goal
Beatrice Goal (nee Johnston) of Fairmount, passed away Fri., Sept. 24, 2010.
She was born April 3, 1921 in Winchester, the daughter of J. Arnott and Ida Johnston (nee Barkley). As a child she immigrated to northern New York State, and eventually settled in Cazenovia, NY. She met her late husband, Edgar J. Goal of Syracuse, whom she married on Oct. 10, 1942.
Beatrice was a lifelong devotee and proud supporter of both the visual and performing arts in central New York. She served for many years as a volunteer for the Syracuse Opera.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edgar, and her son, Gary, an accomplished musician. She is survived by her daughter, Margo of Syracuse, a daughter-in-law, Carol of Cazenovia, two granddaughters, Jennifer (Harold) Appleby of Manlius, and Dr. Rebecca Goal of Cazenovia, a sister-in-law, and three nephews. She will forever be remembered and missed by her many close and special friends.
The funeral service was held on Tues., Sept. 28, followed by interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Cazenovia.
