It is with much sadness that the family announces the passing of Dalton Hummel at Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Fri., March 13, 2015. He was 79.
He was the dearly loved father of Donna Small (Michael) of Kemptville, Marlene Laviolette of Morrisburg, and Sandra Kentfield (Ryan) of Cardinal. Poppy will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Lisa Laviolette (David Hopkins), Ryan, and Hanna, and his great-grandsons, Nathan and Jacob. He is survived by, and will be greatly missed by his brother, Rae (Elsie) of Winchester, and his sisters, Linda Johnston (Lorne) of Brinston, and Doris Beckstead (Nathan) of Oshawa. He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Loressa Hummel (nee Hanna). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Dalton’s Life will be held at Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg on Sat., March 21 from 2 to 4 pm. A private graveside service will be held later in the spring.
Donations to the Dundas Manor Activity Fund would be appreciated by the family.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Dundas Manor for the kind and compassionate care provided to their Dad over the past 10 years. Also to the nurses and Dr. Moussette who took wonderful care of Dad during the last two weeks in hospital.
Dad had such a tremendous sense of humour and quick wit. He will be missed!
