Dwaine Irven, a lifelong resident of the Chesterville area, passed away at Winchester District Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family on Wed., Oct. 25, 2017. He was 90.
Dwaine was born in Finch Township on April 19, 1927 to his parents, William and Alice Irven (nee Burd). He was the youngest of eight children, and he stayed on the farm to work with his father, and eventually raised his own family there. As well as being a farmer, Dwaine was a carpenter by trade for more than 40 years.
He was loved by Debra and their children, Sara of Ottawa and John (Anna) of Crysler. He was the loving Grandpa of Kai and Audrey, and brother-in-law of Luva and Rotha Irven. Dwaine will be fondly remembered by the Kelly family, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Ida Paul (Wilbert), and his brothers, Lorne (Helen), Weldon (Dorothy), Gordon (Hazel), Ray (Helen), Howard, and Emerson.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Chesterville on Fri., Oct. 27. The funeral service was held at Christ Church United in Chesterville on Sat., Oct. 28 with Rev. Debbie Poirier officiating, followed by interment at Morewood United Cemetery. The pallbearers were Tyler Wheeler, Kyle Wheeler, Shane Kelly, Doug Paul, Tyler Leduc, and Shawn Neilsen.
