Tom MacLean, formerly of Winchester, a quiet, kind, gentle, caring man, passed away suddenly at Kingston General Hospital shortly after his 80th birthday.
He will be greatly missed by his family — wife of 51 years, Irene B. MacLean (nee Butt); son Bruce MacLean; and daughter Alison Darrach (Michael); as well as much-loved granddaughters Ainsley and Charlotte.

MacLean (nee Gillmoure). He was the brother of Judy Stringer (Eric) of Bridgewater, N.S. and Dianne Pollock (Bill) of Winchester, and was predeceased by his brother, James MacLean (Patricia) of Winchester. He was the brother-in-law to Jack Butt (Heather). He was the uncle to Katrina Stringer, Paul Stringer (Michelle), Rob Pollock (Karen), and Kim Machan (Andrew); and Ian Butt (Yvonne) and Craig Butt (Rhea). He is also survived by several grandnephews and a grandniece.  Friends and family were invited to visit the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd. in Kingston, on Tues., Oct. 4 from 1 to 1:50 pm. The funeral service was held in the chapel of the funeral home at 2 pm with Rev. Laurie McKnight officiating, followed by a reception in the reception centre. A private inurnment will be held at a later date with immediate family.
