Phyllis Eleanor McAuley (nee Brown) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Township of Osgoode Care Centre on Thurs., May 4, 2017. She was 93.
She was the devoted wife of the late John McAuley, and the loving mother of Ruth Quinn of Kemptville, Florence (Gary Bilow) of Metcalfe, Joyce (the late Fred Brown) of Kenmore, Mary of Nepean, Robert (Corinne) of Mississauga, Nancy (Robert Ziegler) of Moose Creek, and the late Thomas. She was the beloved grandmother of Brenda, Tommy, Steven, Greg, Jeff, Alley, Bryan, Shane, Amber, Ryan, and Samantha; and great-grandmother to Hayleigh, Rory, Dylan, Meghan, Robbie, Paul, and Grace. Phyllis was the cherished sister of Verda Clements (the late Fred) of Long Sault. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Margaret (nee Rainey) Brown, and her sisters and brothers: Anna Somerville, Stanley Brown, Greta Lobb, Sybil Skuce, Robert Brown, Mary Stewart, and Eileen Armstrong.
Family and friends gathered to pay their respects at the Daley Family Funeral Home on Tues., May 9. A service in celebration of Phyllis McAuley’s life was held on Wed., May 10 in the chapel of the funeral home followed by interment at Spring Hill Cemetery in Metcalfe.
Memorial donations to the Township of Osgoode Care Centre would be appreciated by the family.
