WINCHESTER – A longtime North Dundas Minor Hockey Association volunteer has seen her commitments to the local league honoured.

Barb Menard received the Upper Canada Minor Hockey League (district one)’s Clara Thompson Award Tues., May 22.

The honour goes to an executive member who has presented and proven honest integrity and sportsmanship in dealing with the hockey community of the region for five or more years, and proven dedication through longevity of service to the hockey community.

According to NDMHA president Peter Forrester, Menard is “very deserving” of the award, meeting all of the criteria and much more.

“Time and time again she goes over and above without hesitation,” Forrester added.

Not only is Menard registrar of the local league, but she also has the same role with district one, and the Rideau St. Lawrence Kings.

“She can also be found many nights during the year organizing events, attending meetings, attending hearings, and lending hand for the better of these organizations in any way needed,” Forrester said. “Barb is not only a dedicated hockey volunteer, but she dedicates even more of her time to many other community groups in North Dundas day in and day out.”
