Susan Anna Mussell
Feb. 9, 1971 – Dec. 26, 2014
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Susan. Sue was surrounded by loving friends and family who came together to provide care for her throughout her yearlong battle with cancer, and during her final days in Vancouver.
Sue grew up in Osgoode and had a wonderful childhood full of fond memories of life and work on the farm.
After three years at Carleton University in Ottawa, Sue’s amazing sense of adventure led her to Vancouver to finish her degree at Simon Fraser University. Her developing career as a civil servant brought her to Terrace, B.C., where she worked to create training and employment opportunities for locals, specifically First Nation’s people. She was a kind and caring person who had a real zest for life. She loved nature and walking her dogs in the forest. Sue was positive and non-judgmental, which led her to having a diverse group of friends. She was a member of the Vancouver Society of Friends (Quakers) where her cheerful and uplifting spirit was much loved.
Sue is the cherished daughter of Clarence and the late Anna Mussell of Osgoode. She is the adored sister of Paul (Grace), Gord (Karen), and Eric (Wendy); beloved aunt to Julie (Dave Hann), Ryan, Kristine (Andrew Handke), Ben, Scott (Amanda), Gail, Ashley, Brett, Allan, Bailley; and her predeceased niece, Jennifer. She leaves behind many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Osgoode on Sat., Jan. 31 at 11 am.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Osgoode would be appreciated.
