WINCHESTER – North Dundas Building Supplies is open for business.

The store on the site of the former KnR Repairs Inc. along County Road 43 East is a dream come true for owners, Stacy Duguay and David Nyentap.

Sat. Sept. 8 was a special day for the couple who were unable to have a business on their property in Marvelville, so they chose to come to a another area. North Dundas was perfect.

They had a bouncy castle all set to go on Sat., as well as a slide, cotton candy for children and face painting courtesy of Wild Rooster.

The afternoon was capped off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with North Dundas Deputy-Mayor Gerry Boyce and Adrian Bugelli a representative from Stormont, Dundas and South Glengarry MP Guy Lauzon’s office.

A year of discussing the possibility of the couple joining up with Castle Building Centres finally evolved into a plan riddled with hurdles due to the City of Ottawa’s zoning restrictions where they lived in Marvelville.

They searched for a location outside of Ottawa, and found the spot in North Dundas. At the same time as they were moving their dream to the township they were able to sign on with Castle.

The move is good for North Dundas and great for Duguay and Nyentap.

“Pretty well everything you would ever need is here,” said Nyentap. The business is designed to cater to both contractors and the do-it-yourself enthusiast.

The couple is well-suited to the job of bringing their building supply business to North Dundas.

Nyentap has a separate construction business, building among other things, barns. Duguay, meanwhile, has experience in marketing.
