WINCHESTER – The Winchester Hawks (14-26-1-0) picked up a 3-1 home victory over the Embrun Panthers (24-18-0-3) Fri., Jan. 26.

The Hawks opened the scoring at 6:47 of the first period when Morewood native Dillon Clemen beat Panthers’ goalie Jean-Pascal Sabourin. Joel Driscoll and Brett Romain picked up the assists.

Winchester carried the lead till the 12:16 mark of the second period after Jeremy Barrie scored for the visiting Panthers.

The Hawks put themselves back on top with 22 seconds left in the middle frame after Christophe Lemay scored his first of two goals. Evan Landry and Joel Driscoll chipped in assists on Lemay’s goal.

Lemay added an empty-net goal to seal the victory.

Johnson made 37 saves to pick up his sixth win of the season.

Hawks 6 – Rebels 3
The Hawks captured their second win of the weekend in Williamstown, skating to a 6-3 win over the Char-Lan Rebels (15-25-1-0) Sat., Jan. 27.

Driscoll opened the scoring for the Hawks midway through the opening frame after being set up by Clemen.

The Rebels responded in the second period, scoring three unanswered goals.

The first came 37 seconds in when Derek Lister beat Hawks’ goalie Brent Pledge-Dickson.

Char-Lan then scored twice with two minutes to further their lead. Evan Huntley and Hunter Duchene scored the Rebels goals.

The Hawks responded with a pair of goals to even the score as the second period came to a close. At 16:35, Clemen scored off of a pass from Landry to put the Hawks within one. Lemay evened the score at 18:15 after being set up by Joel Driscoll.

The third period saw three goals, all scored by the visiting Hawks.  Hunter Randell scored the first third period tally while Driscoll scored the second. Kieran Gaynor, Mitchell Robertson and Fred Lemay chipped in assists on the goals.

The Lemay’s combined to score the Hawks’ final goal with Christophe setting up brother Fred for the goal.

Pledge-Dickson turned aside 27 shots for his eighth win.
