Carolyn Pemberton, a lifetime resident of the area, passed away suddenly at home on Sat., March 11, 2017.
She was born in Elma on May 22, 1943 to her parents, Glenn and Clarice Barkley (nee Utman). On May 27, 1961, she married Glenn Pemberton and together they had three children: Brian, Barrie, and Kathi.
She worked for the Township of Morrisburg until she married Glenn. They then purchased a farm together in 1961, and worked hard to build it up to a great business. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend. She opened her home to everyone, and always treated everyone like family.
She was a proud member of the Rebecca’s of Brinston. She and Glenn loved card games, road trips, and the occasional casino, usually with good friends/family. She loved her flower gardens, and she enjoyed making special meals and desserts for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Basically, she enjoyed life and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Carolyn is survived by her husband Glenn; her children, Brian (Violeta)of Williamsburg, Barrie (Alice) of Williamsburg, and Kathi Duff of Ottawa; her grandchildren, Samantha, Melissa, Mark, Amanda, and Brianna; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandson, Mike DeJong. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg on Tues., March 21 from 10 am until the time of the memorial service at 11 am, which was conducted by Rev. Moses Prashad. Interment of cremated remains will be at Fairview Cemetery in Mariatown.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
