Cecil Runions of Long Sault died at the Janet MacDonell Pavilion in Cornwall on March 19, 2003. He was 69.
He was the beloved husband of Vera Runions (nee Johnston). He was the loved father of Kelly (Jeff Kennedy) of Long Sault, and Kevin (Varnya Bromilow) of Toronto.
He was dear brother of Gladys Polowin of Ottawa, and Eileen (Mrs. Ken Arthur) of Finch; and dear brother-in-law of Jessie Renwick, and Dorothy (Mrs. James Pollard), all of Vankleek Hill. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Runions was predeceased by parents Cecil Runions and Leila Grandaw. He was a retired inspector with the Cornwall Community Police Services.
Visitation was held at Brownlee Funeral Home in Ingleside on March 21. A service in celebration of his life was held in St. John’s Presbyterian Church in Cornwall on March 22, with Rev. Fred Rennie officiating.
A eulogy was given by inspector Brendon Wells. An honor guard comprised of the Cornwall Community Police Service was present at the church.
The pallbearers were Bob Burnie, Claude Lortie, Pierre Lalonde, Rick Carter, Gary Derochie and Luc Brunet, all members of the Cornwall Community Police.
