Joyce Stevens of Iroquois died on Tues., March 26, 2002 at Winchester District Memorial Hospital. She was 70.
She was predeceased by her first husband, George Stevens, and by her second husband, David Holliday. She was born on March 8, 1932 in Edwardsburg Township to the late Jack and Sarah Sullivan (nee Thompson).
She was the beloved mother of Margaret (Bill) Lewis of Williamsburg and Donnie Stevens of Iroquois. Loving grandmother of Robert and Bo Stevens; and Andy, Adam and Rose Lewis. Dear great-grandmother of Mercedes, Lexus, Jole, Jordan, Marsha and Martina.
Dear sister of Clara Smith of Constance Bay and Ella Hanson of Ottawa. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Vernon, Fred, Pember and Garnet Sullivan.
Mrs. Stevens was born and raised in the Spencerville area and lived there until 1995 when she moved to Iroquois. She worked for many years at Cook’s House Restaurant, formerly known as Mary’s Restaurant, in Spencerville.
She loved flowers, gardening, reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Donations to Winchester District Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
Funeral service was held at Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home, Iroquois on Sat., March 30 with Rev. Sandy Macpherson officiating. Interment will be at Spencerville Union Cemetery, Spencerville.
Pallbearers were Andrew Lewis, Adam Lewis, Donald Lewis, Arnold Casselman, Keith Lewis and Bill Lewis.
