Lindsay Stewart, a lifetime resident of the Winchester area, passed away at Dundas Manor Nursing Home in Winchester on Fri., Jan. 6, 2017. He was 87.
Lindsay is survived by his wife of 65 years, Iva Stewart (nee Byers); his children, Will of Cornwall, Beverly Merkley (Doug) of Summerstown, Elaine Berry of Winchester, Neil (Sharon) of Shanly, Judy Willems (David) of Morewood, Brenda Stewart (Gerard Furlong) of Ottawa, and Sandra Freeman (Shane) of Winchester. He will be fondly remembered by 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and five step great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Emerson and Evelyn Stewart (nee Ouderkirk), and his son-in-law, Paul Berry. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Friends called at Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Chesterville on Mon., Jan. 9 from 11 am until the time of the funeral service conducted by Rev. Bruce North at 1 pm. Interment followed at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville. The pallbearers were Shane Freeman, Randy Casselman, Peter Casselman, Lester Robinson, Jean Luc Jaquemet, and Derek Merkley.
